Accenture, Google Cloud Advance Automotive AI Software Development With Volvo Cars

Accenture PLC (NYSE:ACN) and Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Google Cloud named Volvo Cars the lead industry partner for Horizon, an open-source platform accelerating Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) software development. Horizon helps automakers and suppliers build, test and deploy Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) software more efficiently. Accenture And Google Cloud Expand Volvo Cars Software Platform Horizon combines cloud-native tools, virtual testing environments and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development and improve engineering productivity. Volvo Cars is migrating its global AAOS software development environment to Horizon, giving engineers faster workflows, virtual testing capabilities and AI-assisted development tools. The collaboration will also help Accenture and Google Cloud refine Horizon and expand its generative AI capabilities for automotive and other industrial manufacturers. Volvo Cars Head of Connected Experience Gregor Zetsche said the platform will help the company address complex engineering challenges and deliver new in-car experiences faster. The companies will also form a team of "embedded evaluators" to assess and red-team AI models, conduct alignment testing and evaluate safeguards alongside Anthropic’s teams and safety partners as AI systems are deployed. Accenture CEO Julie Sweet said effective AI safety requires technical expertise and an understanding of real-world AI applications. Faculty CEO and Accenture CTO Dr. Marc Warner said the partnership will enable embedded AI evaluation at greater scale.
