Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire AI firm World Labs in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion. This acquisition aims to enhance AMD's capabilities in developing AI hardware, software, and systems, and will bring World Labs co-founder Fei-Fei Li to AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist. Following the announcement, AMD shares experienced slight fluctuations, closing up 0.08% at $608.38.
