Trump Hails Boeing’s 111-Plane Deals With Türkiye, Bangladesh, Says They’ll Support ‘Tens of Thousands’ of American Jobs: ‘Big Day’ for US Manufacturing

President Donald Trump has hailed Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick‘s role in Boeing Co.‘s (NYSE:BA) major aircraft deals with Turkish Airlines and Bangladesh’s Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Building in America Makes Companies Stronger In a post on the social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump said that it was a “big day” for domestic manufacturing. “Türkiye and Bangladesh announced purchases totaling 111 Boeing Airplanes—with options for 50 more—following support from Howard Lutnick and the Department of Commerce,” Trump said. He added that “tens of billions of dollars,” as well as “huge” U.S. exports, were supporting “tens of thousands of American Jobs.” Trump said that the market was “recognizing” that building and exporting goods from the U.S. and supporting domestic jobs make enterprises stronger. “Congratulations to Boeing, and its incredible workforce!” He said. Source: Donald Trump via Truth Social Read Also: NTSB Says Amazon Boeing Pilots Appeared to Consider Aborting Landing Before Deadly Miami Crash Boeing Aircraft Deal Boeing, in an official statement on Wednesday, said that it had reached a deal with Turkish Airlines for 150 737 MAX aircraft. “Turkish Airlines purchased 100 737-8 airplanes and secured options for 50 more 737 MAX jets, making this the airline’s largest Boeing single-aisle order,” Boeing said. Boeing also announced that Bangladesh’s flag carrier had “placed an order for 11 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX airplanes,” including five 787-10 aircraft and six 737-8 jets. The company had earlier announced that it had reached a deal and acquired a record order from Korean Air. Meanwhile, as Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the U.S., potential deals for Boeing with Chinese airlines are shifting back into focus after Beijing confirmed in May that Chinese airlines had placed orders for aircraft with Boeing. Price Action: Boeing shares rose 0.03% to $199.99 during overnight trading on Wednesday.
