Crystal Crop Protection And Cibus Announce Agreement To Develop Gene-Edited Traits In Brassica Juncea

Crystal Crop Protection Limited and Cibus, Inc. have entered into an agreement to develop gene-edited traits in Brassica juncea, commonly known as mustard, which is a key oilseed in India. India, which cultivates mustard on approximately 8.5 million hectares, currently imports over half of its edible oil, totaling around 17 million tonnes annually. This collaboration aims to enhance mustard crop performance, potentially increasing income for growers and reducing reliance on imported oils. The partnership highlights Cibus' strategy to work with local seed and crop companies to improve agricultural outputs.
