Circle, Binance Deepen USDC Ties with $100 Million Investment

Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE:CRCL) shares are on a seesaw on Tuesday while the company expands its strategic partnership with Binance.The deal combines a new five-year commercial agreement with a $100 million equity investment from Binance. • Circle Internet Group shares are consolidating. What’s ahead for CRCL stock?Binance Expands USDC PartnershipBinance will expand the promotion and integration of USDC across its platform, while Circle will support the stablecoin through its Modular Smart Contract Wallet infrastructure.Circle will also pay Binance a monthly incentive fee tied to USDC held through the service.The agreement replaces earlier arrangements from November 2024 and August 2025 and may be terminated early under specified circumstances.Circle co-founder, Chairman and CEO Jeremy Allaire said the partnership could broaden USDC access across emerging markets.Binance Takes $100 Million Circle StakeBinance bought 1.237 million Circle Class A shares at $80.84 apiece through a private placement, representing a discount to the market price before closing.The shares are generally subject to a two-year transfer restriction, with customary exceptions. Binance retains voting and other shareholder rights during that period.Binance co-CEO Richard Teng said, “Our $100 million investment and five-year commitment represent long-duration conviction.”Circle’s platform includes USDC, Circle Payments Network and its Arc blockchain. MACD remains below its signal line with a negative histogram, suggesting buying pressure has weakened from the previous upswing.The 50-day SMA also remains below the 200-day SMA, keeping the longer-term technical setup mixed.Resistance sits near $103.50, while support is around $86.00, close to the 200-day SMA of $86.01.Wall Street Stays Mixed On CRCLCircle carries a Hold rating with an average price target of $91.54.Recent analyst actions include TD Cowen raising its price target to $92 while maintaining a Buy rating on Sept. 17.
