Elastic Launches jina-ocr-v1: A Compact, High-Accuracy OCR Model For Complex Document Processing

Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) has launched jina-ocr-v1, a new optical character recognition (OCR) model designed for complex document processing, featuring 574 million active parameters. This model offers high accuracy for over 100 languages and can process intricate layouts, tables, and handwriting at a fraction of the size and cost compared to leading benchmarks. It utilizes a mixture-of-experts architecture and FastMTP technology to enhance performance and reduce inference costs.
