Ross Gerber Says He Found ‘Secret’ Lot With Hundreds of Waymo Robotaxis: ‘Something Crazy Is About to Happen’

Investor Ross Gerber says he may have found a "secret" lot containing hundreds of Waymo‘s autonomous vehicles in California, suggesting the Alphabet Inc.-backed (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) robotaxi company could be preparing to scale its fleet. Waymo Fleet Expansion on the Horizon? In a post on the social media platform X on Wednesday, Gerber shared a picture of Waymo vehicles, including the “Ojai” Robotaxis parked in a lot in California. “I found a secret lot today snooping around Santa Monica,” Gerber said, adding that there were hundreds of vehicles ready to be deployed. “Something crazy is about to happen,” the Gerber Kawasaki Wealth Management co-founder said in the post. On the other hand, Gerber remained skeptical about Elon Musk-led Tesla Inc.‘s (NASDAQ:TSLA) Cybercab, which was wasting time because “they [Tesla] didn’t apply for an exception for having no brake pedal.” Looks like Waymo is moving into big time scale mode. Investor Gene Munster of Deepwater Asset Management, on the other hand, said that the NHTSA probe into the Cybercab operations was a “speed bump” for the Cybercab service earlier this month. Waymo Enters Las Vegas Recently, Waymo announced that it was rolling out its Robotaxi network in Las Vegas, touting its nearly 24-mile service area in the city. Waymo also said that it will expand its service to other parts of Clark County in the coming months. Waymo also says it will target a 2027 roll-out of its service in Tokyo. Notably, ride-hailing giant Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE:UBER) is preparing to launch an autonomous-vehicle pilot in Tokyo in late 2026.
