Holcim's Heracles Group Secures EU Innovation Fund Grant for ORION Project

Holcim's Heracles Group has been awarded a grant from the EU Innovation Fund for its ORION project, which will establish a fully electrified calcined clay production line at its cement plant in Volos, Greece. The project was chosen from 77 initiatives and aims to reduce carbon intensity in clinker production by utilizing high-temperature electrification and renewable energy. This initiative supports Holcim's global decarbonization strategy and net-zero objectives.
