Meta’s AI Strategy Runs From Hearing Aids to a $1,299 Cinema: JPMorgan Sees a Giant Market

Meta Platforms, Inc‘s (NASDAQ:META) AI strategy is getting an unusual makeover. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is talking about a "private cinema," a "joyful little device" for your keychain, Kylie Jenner and BlackPink’s LISA-branded glasses and hearing enhancement — while JPMorgan sees the seemingly eclectic lineup as part of a much larger AI platform that could address a market worth tens of trillions of dollars. Muse Is Leaving the Screen The latest announcements make Meta’s AI push look almost like a consumer-electronics and fashion campaign. Zuckerberg highlighted Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 with longer battery life and new styles including Aviators, alongside new Meta Glasses collaborations with Kylie Jenner and LISA. Meta plans to offer more than 100 glasses across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta by year-end, according to JPMorgan analyst Doug Anmuth. But underneath the colors and celebrity collaborations is Muse. Anmuth says Meta has shifted Reality Labs toward wearables designed specifically around Muse and personal superintelligence. Glasses remain the biggest opportunity, with Meta targeting the more than 2 billion people who already wear glasses. That makes the growing hardware lineup less about individual gadgets and more about putting Meta’s AI agent into everyday life. Meta introduced a hearing-enhancement feature in the U.S., along with hands-free workouts, nutrition tracking, shopping and visual AI features. It also unveiled Muse Charm, which Zuckerberg called a "joyful little device" that fits on your keychain and lets users talk to Muse. It is expected to ship in December. At the other end is Meta VR Glasses. Zuckerberg described them as a "private cinema," workstation and game console packed into high-resolution glasses. At roughly 100 grams, they are about one-fifth the weight of Meta Quest 3, with Muse integrated directly into the operating system. The glasses are expected in spring 2027 for $1,299. JPMorgan Sees the Bigger Picture The investor question is whether these products can turn Muse into a platform rather than another AI feature. Anmuth says Muse is already reaching millions of people and could eventually become a personal agent for billions. JPMorgan sees Meta beginning to generate AI returns beyond advertising, with a potential addressable market in the “tens of trillions” of dollars. Direct Muse monetization remains limited today. But JPMorgan expects Meta eventually to monetize transactions between users, businesses and AI agents through fees or commissions. For investors, the bigger test is whether Meta can turn its unusual collection of products — from hearing enhancement to a "private cinema" and a "joyful little" keychain device — into a single AI ecosystem capable of expanding the company beyond advertising.
