3M Announces $7.335 Billion Settlement for PFAS-Related Personal Injury Claims

3M announced a settlement of approximately $7.335 billion to resolve PFAS-related personal injury claims from up to 120,000 plaintiffs alleging health effects from exposure. The company expects to record a $5.8 billion pre-tax charge in the fourth quarter but said it will not affect previously issued financial guidance. 3M did not admit liability and said it remains prepared to defend ongoing litigation.
