Terna Reports September 2026 Electricity Demand Growth

Terna, Italy's national transmission system operator, reported that electricity demand in September 2026 reached 27.8 TWh, the highest for the month since 2014, marking the thirteenth consecutive month of growth. Domestic production met 85.2% of this demand, with the remainder supplied through net imports. The increase in demand was partially attributed to temperatures approximately 2°C higher than in September 2025.
