United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq: UTHR) has opened its third Designated Pathogen-Free facility, named after pioneers in xenotransplantation, in Houston, Texas. This facility is part of the company's strategy to scale commercial production of xenokidneys and xenohearts, following the establishment of its first DPF facility in Christiansburg, Virginia in 2024 and a second in Stewartville, Minnesota in August 2026. The facilities are designed with advanced biosecurity measures to ensure the safety and viability of xenograft products and include solar arrays to reduce energy consumption.
