Vivakor (VIVK) Shares Tumble 27% After Hours: Here's Why

Vivakor, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIVK) shares fell 27.35% to $0.37 in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company announced a 1-for-15 reverse stock split of its issued and outstanding common stock. Vivakor is an integrated provider of sustainable energy transportation, storage, reuse and remediation services, with a corporate mission to develop, acquire, accumulate and operate assets, properties and technologies in the energy sector. Reverse Split Details The reverse stock split is expected to become effective at the opening of trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market on Oct. 5, 2026, under the existing ticker symbol “VIVK,” according to a press release. Following the split, every 15 shares of issued and outstanding common stock will automatically combine into one share, reducing outstanding shares from approximately 8.98 million to approximately 598,794. The number of authorized shares will remain unchanged. No fractional shares will be issued; stockholders otherwise owed a fractional share will instead receive one whole share. Vivakor stockholders approved one or more reverse stock splits at the company’s 2026 Annual Meeting on June 30, 2026, at a ratio ranging from 1-for-2 up to 1-for-2,000, with the Board of Directors determining the specific ratio and timing. The Board previously approved a 1-for-20 reverse split, effective July 17, 2026, ahead of this latest 1-for-15 split.
