Viking Therapeutics Begins Exploratory Oral Maintenance Dosing Study Of VK2735, Its Dual Agonist Of Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 And Glucose-Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide Receptors

Viking Therapeutics has initiated an exploratory oral maintenance dosing study for VK2735, a dual agonist targeting GLP-1 and GIP receptors, aimed at treating metabolic disorders like obesity. This trial is the second part of a two-part maintenance study, following positive results from Part 1, which tested subcutaneous dosing regimens. The current study involves approximately 195 healthy adults with obesity and will evaluate various dosing regimens for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics, while also assessing weight changes from baseline to Week 33.
